Ladoke Akintola University-3graduates feared dead

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology-Ogbomosho popularly known as (LAUTECH)in Oyo state was turned to a battle field on Monday  and Tuesday, when students engaged in a free for all  over the death of three of their colleagues who were reportedly killed by an alleged drunk motorcycle rider(popularly known as okada).

The deceased,were all 200-level undergraduate females,from the Science Laboratory  Technology department of the institution.

Reports have it that the deceased were returning from where they went to get their laboratory costs from one their lecturers.while returning two of them were riding on the okada when a taxi reportedly derailed off its track to crush them. Furthermore sources said that before they were hit, one of the girls, in an attempt to escape being hurt, flew from the bike but unfortunately hit her head on the tarred road. The second girl on the bike and third victim, who was trekking on the road, died on getting to the hospital.Other  passengers in the taxi numbering 3, who were also students of the institution, are in coma and critical conditions.The riot which was aggravated by the accident,began when the students couldn’t lay cool anymore claiming that it was the third accident in two years involving okada riders and students.Reports have it that the burnt down the taxi, made bonfires on the road, destroyed some school property and were alleged to have beaten up the female lecturer in question.Mrs Folashade Ajao-Oyediran,the Public Relations Officer of the institution informed said that they were not allowed into the school,and that the school management was resolving on bringing about a solution to the situation.
