UNIBEN Student Was Shot From Back To Chest By Police – Autopsy Reveals

he Executive Director, Foundation for Good Governance and Social Change, Austin Osakue, has claimedthe autopsy report on the killing of Ibrahim Momodu, has revealed that “three gunshots went into the late Ibrahim through the back tore the heart and exited through the chest.”
Ibrahim Momodu, a final year student of University of Benin, was allegedly shot by DPO of Ogida police station, Mrs Carol Afebgai and hurriedly buried before the family could determine his where about.
Speaking on Channels Television breakfast programme Sunrise Daily, Osakue gave a background stating the DPO (Carol Afebgai) said on tape that she shot the deceased in self-defense while the deceased was trying to shoot at a policemen.
According to Mr Osakue, “the DPO”s statement saying he (Ibrahim) was shot in self-defense and the autopsy report, shows that the DPO is lying.”
He further revealed that the statement credited to police that Ibrahim was shot while stealing has been negated because the autopsy report has revealed that he was shot from behind.
Lead way to escape
The civil rights activist alleged a purported move by the police authority to shift the alleged murder from the DPO to her aid.
“There has been an attempt to shift burden of prove from the DPO to Corporal Amadi, an aid to the DPO and he is presently in detention” Osakue stated, noting that the DPO has been redeployed.
He referred the redeployment of the DPO as “an attempt to give a lead way to escape for the DPO.”
If we have on tape, a woman who confesses to have shot another on self defense, redeployment is not the issue but complete suspension from the proceedings, she is still in position to influence whatever proceedings there may be.”
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Frank Mba, called into the live programme, stating that the police authority has taken key interest in the killing of Ibrahim Momodu, and that the Inspector General of Police, believes he has the responsibility to fish out the killers of the deceased and bring them to book.
According to Mr Mba, officers of the Nigeria Police are “trained, equipped and employed to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians.”
He denied any cover up with the re-deployment of the alleged DPO, saying that the re-deployment is to “reduce her affairs of influence and give investigators access to the scene of the murder.”
Mr Mba stated that if the killing was done outside the Police Code of Conduct or if the allegations against DPO and her team are correct she will not be spared.
